This site has no advertising, no sponsor and no institution behind it. What it needs is not money to run — it needs money to be found.
What your money is for, precisely
Being specific about this matters, because a site whose whole argument is check everything cannot be vague about its own finances.
Every donation goes to dissemination — getting this record in front of more people. Not to salaries. Not to travel. Not to overheads. The writing and the research are unpaid and will stay unpaid. What costs money is reach:

Who you are actually paying: PayPal will show the payee as Innovative Solutions IT — the company of Muzzammil Sajjad, who runs this project. There is no charity, no foundation and no registered non-profit behind this site, and it would be misleading to imply otherwise. Donations are not tax-deductible. If you would rather give to an organisation with charitable status doing work on the ground, the ones we would point you to are below.
How far it has reached so far
Since donations here pay for reach, the reach is published. These figures update live and are counted by this site itself — no Google, no third party, no cookies. Exactly how they are counted.
What this site will not do with money
- It will not take money from a government, a political party, or anybody acting for one — on either side. The moment it does, every figure on it becomes arguable, and the only asset this site has is that its figures are not arguable.
- It will not buy content. Contributions are read and approved on merit; nobody is paid to write in a particular direction, and no donation buys a position on any page. How submissions are handled.
- It will not sell, share or trade your details. There is no mailing list because there is no list.
- It will not track you. No third-party scripts, no advertising, no Google Analytics, no cookies, no profiling. The one thing counted is an aggregate visit tally, by this site’s own server, described in full at how we count. Donating happens on PayPal’s servers, under PayPal’s privacy policy, not ours.
Things worth more than money
If you cannot give, these are genuinely more useful and they are free:
- Send a correction. If a figure here is wrong, that matters more to this project than a donation does. Corrections are read first.
- Send a document. Named gaps: the IPTK reports Buried Evidence (2009) and Structures of Violence (2015); JKCCS annual reviews after 2019; the 2014 Kunan Poshpora compensation order; and the full list of the twenty-five books banned in August 2025. The library’s gaps.
- Translate a page. Any page, any language.
- Cite it. If you are a journalist, researcher or student, use the primary documents linked here rather than this site — that is what they are there for. And link back, because visibility is the thing being bought above.
- Give to people doing the actual work. See below.
Give to the people on the ground instead
This should be said plainly: if you have one donation to make and you care about Kashmiris rather than about this website, give it to one of these instead. They provide care and documentation; this site only provides an argument.
Médecins Sans Frontières
MSF has provided counselling in Jammu and Kashmir since 2001, works in Kupwara district, and trained staff in psychological first aid with IMHANS Kashmir. It also conducted the population survey behind File 10. An international medical humanitarian organisation, independent of any government.
Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons
Founded in 1994 by Parveena Ahangar, made up of the families of the disappeared, and the source of the 8,000–10,000 estimate this site cites. It has sustained a monthly protest in Srinagar for three decades.
Front Line Defenders
Works on the protection of human rights defenders at risk — including the Kashmiri documenters whose imprisonment is recorded in File 05.
